Catch the Spring at the 8th Vimbu Festival in Bauska!

On 5th of April, Bauska invites participants of the Goodwill Fishing Competition, nature enthusiasts, and spring celebrators from all over Latvia to attend the traditional Vimbu Festival, which will take place for the eighth time on the right bank of the Mūsa River next to Bauska Stadium.
The stage programme will feature vocal studio “Pigoriņi”, singer Katrīna Dimanta with the band Zeltrači, electronic pop music group “Yūt”, and DJ Magnuss Eriņš.
Goodwill Fishing Competition participants are welcome to arrive early. Registration starts at 7:00, and participants must bring:

  • a valid fishing, crayfish, and underwater hunting card (except for persons under 16, over 65, or with disabilities)
  • personal identification (ID card or passport)
  • a fishing licence

Awards will be given in five categories: the three anglers who catch the largest vimba fish, as well as the oldest and youngest participant.
This year’s prize fund is supported by shopping centre “Līga”, BBQ culture promoter “Oak’A BBQ”, fish products manufacturer “Kaija”, egg and egg product producer “Balticovo”, “Bauskas alus”, “Cido”, “Picu darbnīca”, and “Medus24”.

From 11:00, all visitors can enjoy:

  • the stage programme
  • spring-themed activities and creative Easter workshops for the whole family
  • local producers’ market
  • relaxing in the welcoming nature atmosphere
  • The festival will be hosted by Latvian Radio personality Magnuss Eriņš. The programme opens with a spring musical greeting by vocal studio “Pigoriņi”. Singer Katrīna Dimanta will perform with Zeltrači, and the riverbank will fill with electronic pop rhythms by “Yūt”.

Admission and participation in the Goodwill Fishing Competition are free.
