From August 29 to October 4, 2026, the Bauska Museum will host the exhibition “Bauska Summer 2026”—the closing exhibition of the art plein air event.

The exhibition opening and a meet-and-greet with the artists will take place on August 29 at 1:00 p.m.

From August 23 to 29, the “Bauska Summer 2026” art plein air event will take place in Bauska. During the event, artists will focus on depicting Bauska’s urban environment, landscapes, and everyday life, each interpreting these themes in their own unique style. This will also offer a fresh perspective on Bauska.

This year’s plein air event is international—artists from Latvia and Lithuania will participate. The gathering of artists of different generations and levels of experience in Bauska will provide an opportunity to view the city from various perspectives and discover new nuances within it. At this year’s plein air event, the following Latvian artists will depict Bauska in their works: Dārta Stafecka, Dzintra Spradzenko, Gatis Šļūka, Laura Ikerte, Ieva Vorkale, and Ainārs Pastors, as well as Lithuanian artists Voldemaras Barakauskas and Laimutė Veličkiene.

The works created during the plein air event will be on display at the closing exhibition at the Bauska Museum. At the opening event, visitors will have the opportunity to meet the artists in person, view the works created in Bauska, and learn more about their experiences working at the plein air event.
