What makes a work of art beautiful? Is perfection eternal, or does time reveal its value? On November 21 at 6:00 p.m., the White Hall of the Rundāle Palace Museum will host a Baroque music concert dedicated to these questions, titled “The Perfect and the Transient: Beauty and Time.” In the Baroque era, beauty was not merely external splendor—it was revealed in harmony, proportion, and the ability to unite apparent opposites. The concert invites listeners to take a fresh look at this interplay, showcasing not only well-known Baroque masterpieces but also lesser-known and surprising compositions.

The program will feature works by Italian Baroque composers Marco Uccellini, Agostino Stefani, Antonio Caldara, Leonardo Vinci, Pietro Locatelli, and Antonio Vivaldi. Alongside Vivaldi’s more widely known music, listeners will also have the opportunity to discover pieces rarely performed in Latvia and unusual combinations of instruments that reveal the diversity and creative richness of the Italian Baroque.

The concert will feature Anda Eglīte on the bass kokle, Dace Priedīte on the concert kokle, Artūrs Noviks on the accordion and bandoneon, and Lāsma Meldere-Šestakova on the Baroque violin.
