LATVIAN VOICES Christmas Concert Program “SNIEGums”
The a cappella group Latvian Voices’ Christmas program “SNIEGums” is both a wintry play on words and a genuine expression of the singers’ desire to offer their audience the most beautiful musical performance.
Through their six-part harmonies and melodies, Latvian Voices will perform both meditative Advent hymns—“O Come Emmanuel” and “See Amid the Winter’s Snow”—and traditional winter solstice songs in contemporary arrangements, such as “Ai, bagāti Ziemassvētki,” “Pūti, pūti, ziemelīti,” as well as original songs created by the group’s members specifically for this program, such as “Sniegu sniegt,” “Ziemas stāsts,” “So Slow,” “Tālu ziemas ceļu gāju,” and others.
This year, the concert program will be accompanied by a Christmas album of the same name, “SNIEGums.” The album was created in collaboration with producer Andrew Kessler from Los Angeles and marks the second recording project resulting from this collaboration between the musicians.
