10. July, 2027
An annual event featuring a special daytime concert for children and an evening classical music concert in the palace gardens, "Vivaldi – The Four Seasons."
Children's Musical Performance "Rapunzel"
Where else could a fairy tale come to life if not in the gardens of Rundāle Palace, where roses are in full bloom and the spirit of history meets music? The Early Music Festival invites families with children to embark on a musical adventure inspired by the Brothers Grimm fairy tale "Rapunzel." The sounds of historical instruments—bagpipes, baroque oboes and recorders, viola da gamba, and harpsichord—will transport listeners to an era when this music delighted royal courts. The fairy tale and music will intertwine into a story of courage, hope, and loyalty, introducing audiences to Rapunzel, the brave Prince, and the mysterious Witch.
A visit to the Rundāle Palace Garden is included in the concert ticket price.
Tickets are required for children from 1 year of age.
Creative workshops: from 11:00 AM
Entrance to the Rundāle Palace Garden: one hour before the concert.
Umbrellas are not permitted inside the venue.
Antonio Vivaldi – The Four Seasons
The Early Music Festival will once again conclude this year with Antonio Vivaldi's celebrated violin concerto cycle "The Four Seasons"—one of the most beloved masterpieces of classical music, performed and recorded in countless interpretations around the world. The cycle of four violin concertos was first published in 1725 as part of the collection "The Contest Between Harmony and Invention." Indeed, this music is rich in both harmony and imagination, as Vivaldi delighted in portraying scenes from nature and everyday life, even including written descriptions of these scenes in the score. The vivid temperament and vibrant colours embedded in the composition inspire performers' creativity, while also demanding brilliant technical mastery and expressive musicality.
A visit to the Rundāle Palace Garden from 8:00 PM is included in the concert ticket price.
Entrance to the Rundāle Palace Garden: one hour before the concert.
Umbrellas are not permitted inside the venue.
Tickets are required for children aged 7 and older.
